Twister #26 Sweet Olive, 55% katoen, 45% acryl, 250 gram, 1000 meter

I received my first yarn sponsorship from Hobbii, I chose two yarn cakes

Twister # 26 Sweet Olive, 55% cotton, 45% acrylic, 250 grams, 1000 meters

This is also the first time I crochet with this yarn and right away I am a fan

I really love it, it is wonderfully soft and the colors are beautiful

The result is light and drapes beautifully, this makes me very happy

A big thank you to Hobbii

I crocheted this poncho in the round, that is what I like best

because then you see all the stitches from the front

As a result, the point slants slightly to right

but no one sees that when you are wearing her

(of course you can also turn after every row if you prefer)

I crocheted her with a 4.5mm hook and the starting chain with a 5mm hook

Allegedly I crochet tight, do you crochet loose?

then you can choose a smaller hook if you want the same result

I crocheted a chain of 192 chain stitches, I like a wide neckline

For many of you, that will really be too wide!

so it is important that you choose your own neck width

(maybe your chest width under your breast is a size that you should not go over)

the pattern repeat is 14, so choose a multiple of 28+24 (eg.108,136,164)

on ¼ and ¾ of your chain you crochet a corner

so your “seam” falls in the middle of your shoulder

with an odd number of fans between the corners,

the seam will not be in the center but that is fine too

with the first yarn cake I crocheted the chain and exactly half a row then I took the other yarn cake

of this second cake I first winded a small ball on the gamble to be able to crochet a row of sc (US) dc (UK) later

I finished the row with this second cake and also the first half of the next row

until I came back to the thread of the first cake, there I picked up the other thread

and so on…

So I have a “seam” on both shoulders and a longer color gradients than I would get with a single cake

I crocheted an row of sc (US) dc (GB) on neckline and bottom

bottom: playing with the size of my crochet hooks to avoid stretching

in / around every stitch with a size 4mm, except the corner fans, there I used a 3.5mm

recht (straight) diagram

When I had the length I wanted, I didn't end up with a fan in the corner

but in the transition to a fan so I had to design an end corner

See photo: three bows of 5 chains, 5 double (US)/triple (UK) crochets and so on

I ended up  using almost 400 grams / 1600 meters of the yarn

I have 105 grams left, so I could do frills when I feel like it

Hello, thank you for the lovely pattern.
I would like to ask about the corners - what about next rows? Do I repeat the 11-stich fans or do I go on with 7 stich fans in next rows?

Thank you in advance for your answer ๐Ÿ™‚

The last row of the corner chart is like the first row. So next is the 11 stitch fan again.

Hello! I just love this poncho and would really like to make it but I have never followed a diagram before. Do you have the written instructions for it? Do you use UK or US terminology? I will have a go at translating your diagram but I don't think it will be easy for me. Many thanks

There are no written instruction for as yet, charts are international and I'd rather crochet than write paterns ;)
